Community Powered Innovation

Welcome to Community Powered Innovation. The world of innovation has undergone a paradigm shift from Control (read captive R & D Labs) to Collaboration (read Open Source and other similar initiatives). Community members invest capabilities and efforts into ideas they are passionate about. Ideators and Contributors must essentially be enabled by a platform that helps them to Connect, Collaborate and Co-Create in realizing these ideas. Our community is about sharing and discussing issues that are both relevant and important for the growth and success of community powered innovation.

  1. What will be the key success factors for such communities?
  2. What new processes and tools will be required to enable effective collaboration and co-creation?
  3. What new behaviors and protocols would be required to make the ecosystem more effective?
  4. What are the new experiences that must be provided to motivate our members?

Crowdsourcing - Fuelling Innovation across industries

Crowdsourcing" has, virtually overnight, generated huge buzz, enthusiasm, and fear. It's the application of the open-source idea to any field outside of software, taking a function performed by people in an organization, such as reporting done by journalists, research and product development by scientists, or design of a T-shirt, for example, and, in effect, "outsourcing" it through an open-air broadcast on the Internet. Crowdsourcing has already had a huge impact on big companies like Procter & Gamble, as well as start-ups like Threadless.com, which rapidly became the third largest T-shirt maker in the United States.
